"Intercessors for Italy" is a prayer movement, launched by evangelical Christians but open to sincere Christian believers of any denomination, with the aim of promoting intercession for the nation and its governing authorities according to St Paul's exhortation in 1 Timothy 2:1-4.

It has no official membership but seeks to be a channel of communication and to encourage and inform all who have a burden to pray for Italy.

"Intercessors for Italy" is connected with the European Prayer Link, a network of European prayer movements and espouses its objectives, encouraging Christians to pray for Repentance on the part of the Church and of unbelievers; Reconciliation among Christians; Revival throughout Europe, leading to Reformation of society.

Continuing prayer requests

Those who feel a call to pray for Italy, either alone or with a group of intercessors, are invited to pray for the following long-term objectives:

• For evangelism and revival. Only the conversion of millions of Italians to a true faith in Christ can produce a deep, lasting change in our nation. In particular, pray for the planting of new churches and fellowships in the least evangelized regions of the nation.
• That the Holy Spirit will draw people to read and understand the Bible. Thank God that after centuries of ignorance of God's Word, nearly every family now has a Bible, but most of them are gathering dust...
• For the Church, that pride and sectarian attitudes may be broken down and all Christians may recognize one another as brothers and sisters and work together to oppose the kingdom of darkness. That God will raise up pastors, teachers, evangelists and all the other ministries the Church needs, men of integrity and anointed with the Holy Spirit.
• For the Italian political authorities (President, Prime Minister, ministers, Parliament, local authorities, and everyone in public life), that God may use them to preserve and promote freedom and justice. That at every level of government God will raise up honest, able, God-fearing people to promote the public good.
• For the Pope, the Vatican and other religious authorities, that under God's hand they may be used to promote His purposes for Italy and the whole world.
• For the judges and the legal system: that God will protect them from danger root out corrupt elements and use them to get rid of corruption and organized crime.
• For the police and security forces, that they will faithfully serve the public and work effectively to free the nation from the plague of the Mafia and organized crime.
• For all the mafiosi and criminals of all kinds, both in and out of prison, that they may repent and receive forgiveness and the salvation that only Christ can give.
• Against the occult powers of witchcraft and freemasonry, that they may no longer influence the political and social life of the nation, and for the deliverance of all those who are in their grip.
• For families, particularly those of Christians and Christian leaders, which are the target of massive satanic attack as well as being weakened by trends in secular society.
• For the youth of the nation, the God will protect them from the temptations of drugs, illicit sex and destructive entertainments and lead them to Christ, the only source of "abundant life".
• For TV and the media, that they may provide accurate and impartial information and not become means of manipulation and control. To get rid of pornography, broadcasts promoting witchcraft and the occult, and other corrupting influences, and for decent, useful broadcasting. For the opening of doors for the spread of the Gospel through TV.
